Baptism & Marriage

Baptism

Baptism is a sacrament of the church, through which God shows us his love and gives us his grace. baptism signifies the beginning of the Christian journey. When we choose to be baptised, we make a commitment to follow Christ and in turn he promises to be with us through our lifelong journey of faith.

We are delighted to welcome children and adults into membership of the church with the sacrament of Baptism, sometimes called Christening.

Baptism at St Dunstan's are an important special occasion that takes place on the second Sunday of each month* during the regular Sunday Parish mass starting at 10am. This is a public service and celebration where you are welcomed into the church and community of God's family.

*Alternative dates and times for private baptism may be mutually agreed upon with the permission of the Rector and are subject to a fee. Please speak to the Parish Clerk for further details.

Please check that you live within the area covered by the parish before enquiring. You can do this with your postcode by visiting:

              www.achurchnearyou.com

Once you discover the parish you live in; you should approach your local church in that parish for Baptism.
You or your child may also be able to be Baptised here at
St Dunstan's, if you attended church services for six months or more and are on the church's electoral roll.
Please understand that we take the sacrament of Baptism seriously and hope to see all of those baptised here at St Dunstan's become regular attendees.

If you live in our parish and would like to apply for a baptism, then please come to church Sunday morning for the 10am Parish mass and afterwards ask for our Parish Clerk, Bleubelle Fishenden, who will be pleased to help you fill in an application form and plan your baptism.
